Day 1: Nairobi – Masai Mara Game Reserve
Meet and greet at the agreed pick up point or at the airport by our representatives in the morning and receive a short introduction and briefing about your safari. After briefing, you will depart to the Masai Mara Reserve and have a stop for some time at the Great Rift Valley viewpoint on the way, to enjoy the amazing views of the largest Valley in the world, said to be visible from outer space. Masai Mara Game Reserve is home to the big five and numerous plains games. You will arrive in good time for check in and lunch before departing for afternoon/evening game drives. The afternoon game drive at 3.30pm allows spotting of the magnificent wildlife in the park ranging from the Big Cats such as Lion, Leopard & Cheetah to Rhino, Elephant and Wildebeest. Return to your lodge by 6.30pm for dinner and overnight. Optional activities include hot air balloon safari, guided nature walks, bush lunch/dinner/breakfast, masai village visit and an evening sundowner. Dinner and overnight at AA Lodge Masai Mara www.aalodges.com or any other similar hotel. Meal Plan (FB)
Day 2: Full day in Masai Mara Game Reserve
Today, you will be taken on two safari game drives, one in the morning from 6.00am to 9am, followed by breakfast and the other in the late afternoon after lunch from 3.30pm to 6.30pm. The wildlife is usually more active during these times of the day. Since your safari is private, your game drive timings will be flexible, useful if you are traveling with children, or are on a honeymoon. You may also choose to have a full day game drive with packed lunch or return to the hotel for hot lunch then continue with your game drive. Maasai Mara is considered by many to be Kenya’s popular game reserve and it adjoins Tanzania’s well-known Serengeti, forming an ecosystem. The open rolling savannah grassland of the Mara is the home of numerous wildlife species including elephant, rhino, lion, cheetah, leopard, hyena, jackal, buffalo, eland, topis, impala, gazelle, warthog and zebra among others. From late June to 31st October, the annual Wildebeest migration takes place when thousands of wildebeests cross over the Mara River to seek out new grazing areas as the killer crocodiles await to attack them will be a memorable experience. Later in the evening, you will drive back to the hotel/lodge for dinner and overnight at at AA Lodge Masai Mara www.aalodges.com or any other similar hotel. Meal Plan (FB)
Day 3: Maasai Mara Game Reserve – Nairobi
Today after breakfast, you will check out of the hotel and have one last game drive enroute as you head back to Nairobi arriving in good time for an early dinner at the Carnivore Restaurant before drop off at the pick up point or an airport transfer to catch your flight back home. Carnivore Restaurant is a popular dining establishment known for its focus on meat-based dishes. The restaurant is famous for its “Beast of a Feast” concept where a variety of meats, including game meat, are roasted on traditional Maasai swords over a large charcoal pit, which is situated in the center of the restaurant. The menu often includes beef, pork, lamb, chicken, and exotic meats such as crocodile, ostrich, and sometimes game meats like antelope or camel. Due to its unique concept and setting, the Carnivore Restaurant is a major tourist attraction and is often recommended as a must-visit place for those traveling to Kenya. The ambiance is typically rustic, aiming to give an authentic African dining experience. The restaurant often features traditional African decor and sometimes live entertainment. A wide variety of vegetarian dishes are also available. www.tamarind.co.ke
