Overview
Masai Mara National Reserve is located in Kenya’s Great Rift Valley. It is a popular site because of the yearly wildebeest migration, which passes there while crossing the Mara River. The optimum time to visit Masai Mara is between August and mid-October, when the migration reaches Kenya and river crossings occur. However, Serengeti is equally worth visiting during this season, as well as other months of the year, because migration occurs in various sections of the Serengeti throughout the year. In Masai Mara, you can view the Big Five as well as cheetahs, hyenas, hippos, crocodiles, and a variety of other wildlife. Masai Mara is a little more congested.
